The musical group Tlen-Huicani from Veracruz, México will be offering a workshop and concert on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. The Latin American Cultural Union (LACU) is organizing a reception on Tuesday, September 27 at 7:00pm at the Winchester Thurston School. 555 Morewood Ave. in Shadyside, across street from the First Unitarian Church. As part of our mission to support any institution working to preserve the art and traditions of Latin America, LACU invites you and your family to enjoy a cultural evening with the members of Tlen-Huicani.

Como ya saben, el grupo musical Tlen-Huicani de Veracruz, México, estará el día 28 de septiembre de 2005 en la Universidad de Pittsburgh, en Greensburg.  El grupo se presenta gracias al patrocinio del International Academic Village y el Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos de la Universidad de Pittsburgh.

La Unión Cultural Latinoamericana (LACU) ha organizado una recepción para el grupo, como apoyo para cualquier institución que ayude a preservar las tradiciones artísticas y culturales de Latinoamérica.  El encuentro tendrá lugar el martes 27 de septiembre en la Winchester Thurston School ubicada en el 555 de Morewood Avenue, esquina con Ellsworth en Shadyside. Agradecemos al colegio por su hospitalidad para este importante evento cultural.

All LACU members will receive in the mail the ballot to vote for the new LACU board 2005-2007. Please “reply by mail only if you vote is an absentee ballot”. Otherwise, you can come to vote in person the Friday of October 7, at the LACU office, from 6:30-8:30pm, at the monthly meeting. The new LACU board will be announced at the GALA event on October 15 at the William Penn Hotel.
