WIth this year's GALA fast approaching, as I have done in the past two GALAs, I would like to offer to create a one of a kind allegory style painting for LACU.  This work of art can be offered as an auction piece, program cover, or any multiple ways you believe this image would best benefit LACU.  I believe an outstanding piece should convey the ideas and inspirations  directly from the LACU community conveying how you believe the Latin community is positively represented in Pittsburgh.  Please take the time to email me and share your ideas and feedback.  I want this to be an interactive piece representing the true inspirational spirit of LACU!!!  I am honored and excited to create an original work of art for LACU!!!!!! Some questions for the community.... 1) What subject matter reflects Latino today, progressively moving forward while connecting to their roots?...... 2) What excites you about the Latino culture in Pittsburgh?..... Warwick and I are writing to invite you to an Orientation for a new “Cohousing Project” – in Pittsburgh. Cohousing is a concept that began in Denmark to help revive community in

neighborhoods.  There are already hundreds of cohousing communities in Europe and over 70 in the US.  The cohousing movement has grown directly out of peoples' dissatisfaction with the sense of individual isolation caused by urban crowding and suburban sprawl.  Cohousing communities are intentional, collaborative neighborhoods designed and managed by the residents.  Unlike some intentional communities, cohousing members do NOT share income, religious or political views. To learn more about cohousing go to: www.cohousing.org  We are active in a small group that is seeking to establish the first cohousing community in Pittsburgh. We are only six households at present and want and need to grow!  Ideally, our community will be 20-25 households.  We are open to everyone - families, singles, couples, young, old, straight, gay, all ethnicities and races.  Please come on Saturday, July 29 to learn more - find out if this might be

for you! Date: Saturday, July 29. Time: 10-12 noon. Location: Nuin Center, 5655 Bryant St. Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Highland Park area. RSVP: By phone, 412-247-5291 or to this email: whardman@stargate.duq.edu  before July 21.  After July 21 (when we leave for vacation), contact Jane Critchfield at 412-963-1971 or to this email: Janecritchfield@aol.com In case you cannot come to this orientation there will be another in the fall. If you have questions and want to know more, call us!  Feel free to forward this to anyone you think might be interested. We'd love to have you be part of this exciting new community. Wendy Hardman and Warwick Powell. 412-247-5291 WPowell@InterLINKbusiness.com
