Nine of the Divas who performed throughout the past year are scheduled to appear, including Jessica Lee, Lisa Ferraro, Kenia, Shari Richards, Donna Bailey, Antoinette, Lilly Abreu, Lisa Bleil and Maureen Budway. Diva Tuesdays at Blue, started one February night a year ago by Blue owner Jay Fairbrother, has featured a series of solo vocalists in a broad range of musical styles and genres, from blues to jazz, pop and soul. To celebrate a successful year in which Blue has drawn capacity crowds at the restaurant's bar and casual dining area, Fairbrother has invited some of the top performing artists to appear for one night on stage, with each vocalist slated to perform two or three songs, with perhaps an occasional duet. The Divas will be accompanied by pianist Scott Anderson. "We're expecting some great music on our little stage, and some surprises in the evening's line up, too," said Fairbrother. "This is as much a tribute to the incredible vocal talent we have in the area, as it is an anniversary celebration. We wanted to give something special back to our loyal customers and the fans of these wonderful performers." There is no cover charge, but all table and bar seating will require a $35 per person minimum for the evening, according to Fairbrother, and reservations are required for both tables and the bar, to guarantee seating. Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant at (412) 369-9050. Diva Tuesdays Anniversary Celebration is sponsored by National City's Women's Business Development Group & W.O.M.E.N. (Women Organized to Manage Equity and Net Worth). Additional sponsorship is provided by Grey Goose Vodka.
